Drive Chicago

On one beautiful morning back in June, Justin and I shot this time lapse video.  It will give you a quick tour of a few parts of our city from the comfort of your computer chair (or wherever you may be reading this from).  Enjoy!

Justin: “One thing I’ve learned working on this blog with Mike – he loves video.  We not only wanted to do a video time lapse of a drive along Lake Shore Drive, but also wanted to make a video that approximated our experiences of waking up early and driving all around the city to capture content for this blog.  Mike put his tripod in the car and stuck his D300 about 18 inches out of the sunroof, giving you a view from his car’s roof.  I was lucky enough to be along for the ride, my camera poking out the window to capture a few stop-motion pieces of our city.  You’re going to want to watch the whole thing, as we head through Lower Wacker Drive at warp 10 near the end.”

October 22, 2009 - 12:13 pm Kristen - GREAT stuff! i think that if the chicago board of tourism hasn't called yet, they should soon :) also, weren't you afraid of your equipment being hit by rocks from the road or bird poop or anything??

May 24, 2010 - 2:27 pm John Hill - I fell in love with the still photo panoramic skyline shot of Chicago from the lake. Would you please allow us to use it in advertising for our 100th Annual Conference of the International Association for Truancy and Dropout Prevention? It is a non-profit organization which held its first convention in Chicago in 1911. We will certainly give you credit as the photographer. Please respond and I will provide a link where you can view the photo as we would display it. Thank you for your consideration. John Hill
