The Days Are Growing Shorter…

When this photo was taken, it was about 70 degrees and beautifully clear. The weather certainly has changed. Over the past few weeks, I’ve gotten back into fall/winter mode — and to be honest, I like it. Fall is my favorite season and seems to disappear before it even begins. Nothing beats taking a walk in a sweatshirt and hat, enjoying the autumn colors. Everyone is carving pumpkins and bringing out their Halloween decorations. Soon, snow will fall and we’ll be right back into the depths of winter. Winter is the season when Justin, Annie, and I started shooting for this blog — the temps were near zero, the sunrises happened near 8 am, and every time we left the house, we had to put on three layers of clothing. We were thrilled, despite the brutal weather, to shoot in a seemingly deserted city. I’m excited for that time of year to begin yet again….

November 2, 2009 - 7:20 am Paul Sveda - Lovely shot; color & composition. This time of year clears the city streets of people for long exposure work. However, it is about to get a lot more brutal around here. Nice site. Cheers, Paul Sveda

November 4, 2009 - 2:15 pm Hali - Great shot, I love how the city is seen through and over the fence, just such an original composition. Someday I have to visit your windy city.
