The king of free outdoor amphitheaters

It is a crime that we have not yet posted an image of Gehry’s Pritzker Pavilion – Chicago’s gorgeous free concert amphitheater in Millennium Park. I was walking through Millennium Park with camera in hand recently and caught some great sunset light behind the city. I think the pavilion really deserves a proper photo trip all its own sometime during twilight – so stay tuned! Moreover, the Modern Wing and a new garden/arboretum has opened since I’ve last made a dedicated trip. The crescent moon in the top left of the frame is my favorite detail in this photograph.  This is the first photograph I took with my new 14-24mm f/2.8 – which is a dream lens for me!!!  Gone are the light fall off and ghosting from my previous 14mm.

Silly, you say, to put a free outdoor venue in a city with four weeks of summer? Pshaw!
